Start both projects the same way: select the moments before buying materials or arranging a template. A scrapbook is useful when tickets, notes and physical objects are part of the memory. A website is useful when a few short videos matter and you want to share the finished story by link.
Gather five kinds of memory
- An opening: where or how you met.
- An ordinary ritual: a meal, walk or shared joke.
- A turning point: a trip, move or decision you made together.
- Something you appreciate now.
- A closing thought about the next chapter.
Write one caption for each. Illustrative example: “This ticket is from the train we nearly missed because neither of us wanted to end the weekend.” Replace the details with your own; it is a writing prompt, not a customer quotation.
If you choose a scrapbook
Arrange the pages loosely before gluing anything. Leave space for captions and use copies when the original item is precious. Check that folded tickets or thicker objects will not stop the book closing. A small book with space to breathe is easier to handle than pages covered edge to edge.
You can add new pages or another volume later, depending on the binding you choose. A physical scrapbook is not necessarily fixed forever, and it does not need an internet connection to read.

For Site4Us, select up to 8 photos and 4 video clips of up to 10 seconds each. Write a caption for each memory and a short closing message. Preview the whole story, check dates and names, and decide whether to add a password before sharing the published link. Keep original media files separately.
The current builder has themes and defined media slots. It is not a blank canvas with unlimited uploads, custom-domain setup, a music player or guest contributions. If those are essential, choose a tool designed for them.

Site4Us is free to build and preview. To publish, choose £19.99 per month or £199.99 once for Lifetime. Check the current plans and the completed preview before paying. There is no separate upgrade charge for the listed photo, video or optional-password features.
For a scrapbook, check the cost of the book, printing, adhesive and any materials you actually need. For either format, think about who will see the finished gift. Optional password protection adds a password to a Site4Us link, but it cannot stop a recipient sharing what they see.
