Site4Us and Storyworth ask different things of the gift recipient. With Site4Us, you can prepare a photo-and-video story for someone to open. Storyworth is built around collecting someone’s stories into a book over time. Choose according to whether you want to give a finished surprise or invite someone into a writing project.
This comparison is written by Site4Us. Product descriptions were checked on 9 September 2026; this is not a hands-on review of Storyworth’s printed book.
What Storyworth includes
Storyworth’s official product page describes weekly prompts, stories and photos, and a hardcover book. It also describes speaking by phone and transcription or guided interviews on eligible plans. It would be wrong to say Storyworth only supports typed text or has no photos. Check the current plan for the exact included features and delivery arrangements.
Compare the cost without inventing an exchange rate
Site4Us is free to build and preview. Publishing is £19.99 per month or £199.99 once for Lifetime. The monthly plan renews until cancelled; the pricing page explains the plans. Check your finished preview before paying.
Storyworth currently displays plans in US dollars on the page we checked. The final amount depends on the plan and any shipping, taxes or currency conversion that applies to your order. Use Storyworth’s current plans rather than an old £79 figure. A printed book does not need a Site4Us subscription to stay readable.

Decide whose story you are collecting
If the gift is for a parent or grandparent, ask whether they would enjoy regular writing or recording prompts. The point may be to preserve memories you do not already know. Do not turn that into an obligation: offer to help organise the material, and let them choose what stays private.
For your partner, you may already have the photos and moments you want to give back to them. A small finished story can work as a surprise. A shared memoir can also work if writing it together is what you both enjoy.
An illustrative anniversary plan
Write five prompts before choosing a tool: Where did we first feel at home together? What did we learn on a difficult trip? Which ordinary ritual would we miss? What would we tell our younger selves? What do we want to remember next year?
For a finished Site4Us gift, answer a few yourself and select supporting photos. For a memoir project, leave room for the other person’s version; two people can remember the same day differently. These prompts are original examples, not quotations from a customer or from Storyworth’s prompt library.
Check Site4Us’s actual scope
A Site4Us story supports up to 8 photos and 4 videos of up to 10 seconds each, with captions, names, dates, a countdown, a closing message and themes. Optional password protection controls access through a password. Keep copies of your original photos and videos separately. Site4Us does not currently print a hardcover book or run a year-long interview service. Do not buy it expecting those features. Its WhatsApp option produces statistics from an exported text chat, rather than importing a complete chat-media archive.
